Which side is the liner on cricut vinyl.

The sticky side should be the backside of the vinyl and what you pull away would be the liner. Remove the negative pieces from each of the images leaving the clear liner intact. Clearly the easy way to figure it out would be to try to pull the liner off from the vinyl and see which side has the sticky to it. Place the iron on vinyl on the cricut standard grip cutting mat liner side down.

I am using my cricut maker but the concept is the same with the maker or the explore machine. Whatever mat and machine you are using put your adhesive vinyl paper backing side down onto your mat so the colored vinyl side is facing up see image below. The iron on vinyl is put onto the roll carrier side out which means the side that curls down is the carrier side and the side that curls up is the vinyl side. You should be able to get your fingernail between the two layers and peel the adhesive vinyl off the carrier sheet like a sticker.

Cutting vinyl with a cricut machine. Set the easypress timer for 30 seconds at 315 f and place the easypress over the design. For vinyl you need to make sure you are using the fine point blade so don t forget to check that before you try to cut. Place vinyl liner side down onto cricut standardgrip mat.

Place your vinyl onto your mat with the paper side sticking to your mat. Also make sure you mirror your image. Hit the c to start the countdown and press down with light pressure. Load the mat into your cricut using the load unload button.

Position the weeded vinyl decal shiny side up so the vinyl is against the fabric and the plastic back is facing up. In the end if you re faced with two shiny sides the same color the slightly less shiny side is going to be the vinyl side. Sometimes that sheet has a grid on it to make it easy to cut straight. If you look carefully at iron on vinyl there is a liner side and a vinyl side.

Generally adhesive vinyl has the colorful vinyl on one side and is backed by a paper carrier sheet that is most often white. Preparation with cricut transfer tape. The cricut cutting mats are really similar and i have used cricut mats with my silhouette. Select images and size and load the mat into the machine.

Place the iron on vinyl with the carrier sheet liner side down on your mat and the adhesive or backside of the vinyl facing up. Make sure it is centered exactly where you want it. If you can t tell which side is the carrier sheet look at the way it curves the carrier sheet is always on the outside as it is rolled on a tube so it will be on the outside of the curve. Take your scraper tool and make sure there are no bubbles and that it is adhered to the mat well.

Refer to kiss cut guide below to adjust machine settings. You can see the vinyl side up in this photo of heat transfer vinyl on a standard grip cutting mat. Don t confuse this with htv iron on vinyl that has to be placed shiny side down. Apply the vinyl to the cricut mat with the vinyl side up.
